NACE Central Area Announces Postponement of Its 2020 Conference

Dear Central Area Members and Supporters,

We are deeply disappointed to announce that the Central Area Conference must be postponed until 2021.

As American businesses began to re-open we were optimistic that our event could proceed as planned. However, based on the city’s safety recommendations, and restrictions announced in the Mayor’s recent emergency order, it appears unlikely that the city will be prepared to host our event by August.

Protecting your health and safety has been our priority as we’ve moved forward with plans this year but based on these recent announcements, we are concerned that the city will not move beyond this recovery milestone in time for our event.

To ensure attendees and exhibitors have the time to change plans and cancel shipments and travel arrangements, we made the difficult decision to announce today that the event has been postponed.

If there is some good news in all of this, it is that we will have the pleasure of hosting you in Kansas City next year. In the meantime, we are working on ways to bring our regional corrosion community together whether virtually or in small, socially distant networking groups. We will keep you informed of these opportunities as more information becomes available.

For more information about cancellation of hotels or registration, please see our FAQs.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding and support. Please stay safe and well.

Sincerely,

NACE Central Area Board of Trustees
