Businesses have reported a significant gap between the technical talent exiting the workforce and skill sets of the new talent working to fill those voids. The loss of institutional knowledge and experience among those retiring, or expecting to retire, has been an increasing concern for years, yet little has been accomplished to effectively stabilize the workforce. Corrosion industry leaders are examining what they can do differently today to ensure continuity of expertise and a steady flow of incoming professionals in the future.

There is no single solution to bridging the gap of technical knowledge and experience, but any resolution will certainly require a framework of effective leadership. This set of skills – the ability to communicate, delegate, to give and receive feedback –  motivates teams to work enthusiastically toward goals. This forum will provide information on leadership lifecycles, as well as tools for strategic thinking, team building, and conflict resolution. An international panel of industry leaders will share their viewpoints on the the importance of leadership skills for the corrosion workforce, including real-world examples from businesses large and small.
