What will it take for you to become the leader you want to be? Training is often a one-time academic event that teaches ideas, approaches, and tools. Leadership, however, is a complex skill that is developed over time and should be approached like building a habit; a few training sessions will not lead to lasting results. Leaders must commit to ongoing efforts for development of their leadership skills and abilities. Companies are increasingly relying on multi-disciplinary teams and studies show improved performance of teams that rely on the collective capabilities of men and women with a diverse mix of ages and cultures. But a mix of diverse people does not guarantee high performance. Inclusive leadership is needed to bring everyone together and effectively implement the strategy.
This forum will provide guidance from diverse leaders to help you activate the inclusive leader already within you by giving you the confidence to lead and influence diverse, high-high performing teams.

Xcel Energy, Inc., Manager – Geospatial Technology and Asset Data
Stephanie is the current Manager of Geospatial Technology and Asset Data for Xcel Energy, Inc., a gas and electric utility company serving more than 3.3 million electric customers and 1.8 million natural gas customers throughout Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico. Stephanie has previously held roles in oil & gas consulting and management in the field of Corrosion Prevention where she earned her NACE CP 1 & 2. Additionally, Stephanie has been involved with NACE through serving on the Rocky Mountain Section Chapters leadership board, participating in the Emerging Leaders Alliance Conference, serving as Vice Chairman for a standard revision and completing the NACE Leadership Program. Stephanie holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and resides in Golden, CO.
KTA-Tator, Operations Manager
John Todd is the Operations Manager for KTA-Tator and is responsible for training and the operations of over 100 field inspection staff across the US and abroad. He is a NACE Certified Coatings Inspector – Level 3, and has been in the industrial coatings industry since 2004. John has led large teams on complex projects for many private and government agencies across the country. He is active on several industry standard committees and currently serves on the NACE International-Pittsburgh Section's Governing Board. John was honored to be selected for NACE International's inaugural Leadership Program in 2016.
DNV GL, Head of U.S. Pipeline Services
Lynsay Bensman is the Head of DNV GL’s US Pipeline Services. The unit includes over 130 corrosion, integrity and materials professionals, and a large laboratory facility. Over the past fifteen years, she has held multiple leadership positions within NACE, including TG and TEG chair and Education subcommittee chair. While at DNV GL, Ms. Bensman has completed multiple leadership programs including a Global Leadership Program run by INSEAD business school.
BPX Energy, Chief Operating Officer
Kimberly Krieger is the Chief Operating Officer at BPX Energy, BP’s US Onshore Company, where she is accountable for the safe and environmentally responsible delivery of 500,000 bpd equivalent and $2bn in operating cash. As part of the BPX Executive Team, Kim is delivering on a shared vision to disrupt US Onshore Operations with rapid innovation and game changing technologies.
Prior to joining BPX in 2014, Kim held a number of leadership and engineering roles with BP in Alaska, Trinidad, and the Gulf of Mexico that helped shaped the leader she is today. Kim enjoys mentoring, innovation, and values lifelong learning to stay relevant. She holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming and is a 2017 graduate of the Stanford GSB Executive Program. Kim and her husband (Andy) work to balance their demanding careers and treasure family time with their teenage daughters.
oSTEM, President & Chief Executive Officer
Cortland is the current President & CEO of Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM), Inc., professional association for LGBTQ people in the STEM community. With almost 90 student chapters at colleges/universities and professional chapters in cities across the United States and abroad, oSTEM is the largest chapter-based organization focused on LGBTQ people in STEM. In addition to his role within oSTEM, Cortland works full-time at Accenture, a leading multinational strategy, digital, and technology consulting firm, as the Southeast US Strategic Operations Manager. Cortland holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida and resides in Atlanta, GA.
